Concept & Parquetry Pattern Design
Our design process when creating bespoke furniture starts with the initial sketches, quickly mapping out our concepts and ideas. The rest of the procedure is completed at our offices, where we transform the rough sketches into developed concepts and technical scale drawings as we develop your extensive profile with details of which timber types – such as American and European Oak, perhaps with feature highlights or Walnut, Mahogany or other timber species, which patterns and edge profile, and specific colours and finishing details to achieve the perfect result. Both contemporary and traditional parquetry designs are explored in styles ranging from Versailles to Arenberg, and Chevron to Basket weave. These patterns are then cut from the various hand-selected timber boards into exact fitting pieces to ensure a suitable seamless fit. Customisation
The developed profile is an essential part of this creative journey, ensuring that each furnishing created is truly bespoke and authentic – depicting design facets unique to the production of the piece. Manufacturing & Polishing
From start to finish the entire manufacturing process is lead and supervised by Mark Alexander and his team of world-class artisans. They skilfully transform raw timber into gleaming expressions of creativity and art, bringing the natural beauty of the timber to life. Huge emphasis is placed on our lengthy French polishing technique which can take days to achieve the right level of finish. Once your custom item is complete, it’s carefully transported, and then placed in the perfect setting. Your treasured furnishing will soon feel as if it has always been a part of your family.
